1998-2006. Webster died from kidney failure not old age. Unfortunately his kidney failure could have been prevented. It was caused by lyme disease. The vets assumed because he had the lyme vaccine that he was not sick from that and did not even test for diseases from ticks (by the way, there are several other tick diseases other than lyme and many varieties of lyme not covered by the lyme vaccine). He was much loved in his short live, sleeping with his owners and under their desks while they were at work. Webster would be the first to tell you to not assume that your first doctor's diagnosis is correct, especially if there is no response to treatment. Check with another vet for a second opinion. Lyme disease is easy to treat and cure.
