Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had given or has heard of giving canine plasma to 0-12 hour old puppies as an immune booster? It was the topic of a recent article in my Bernese Mountain Dog newsletter, but I wanted to see if anyone had any first hand experience. Basically, it explained that "Because the newborn's digestive system is not completely operational for the first hours after birth, the molecular immune boosting components of the frozen plasma pass unobstructed into the pup's circulation." I was trying to find further research to support the claim that this helps fading pups and helps to secure more consistent weight gain. Thanks!
